The post ended in 2012 with the creation of the ''Archdeacon Pastor'' role to replace it. ==History== The post was historically within the Diocese of Lichfield beginning in the 12th century – around the time when archdeacon first started to occur in England. From 24 January 1837, the archdeaconry was in the Diocese of Worcester, and since 6 September 1918 it has been in the Diocese of Coventry.
